CHALLENGES OF URBANISATION: INEQUALITIES BANGALORE (DVD)

Taking Bangalore as a case study, we look at the cause of urban poverty, including urbanisation and push-pull factors of rural to urban migration. We then visit Bangalore's informal settlements to see the impacts of this poverty. The programme provides visual examples of poverty indicators, including: poor housing, sanitation, lack of access to public transport, education, water, etc. The programme then visits various poverty alleviation projects covering: sanitation and clean water, housing and overcoming caste prejudice.
