'The Severn was brown, and the Severn was blue' - A place for poetry in school geography?

This article draws on the work of four poets to show how their poetry directly engages with the places and environments of the River Severn in Gloucestershire. It suggests that poetry can provide a way for young people to re-engage with natural places and and to reflect on their own feelings about the world around them.
