Description
This context for this report is the Geographical Association (GA)’s involvement as a lead partner in the design and delivery of the GLP in England and Wales. It draws on reports collected by the GA from a wide range of schools engaged in a variety of global learning projects during the life of the GLP. Given the close affiliation between the aims of geography and global learning, it identifies some key features in quality geography and global learning, and aims to contribute to understanding the impact of the GLP, particularly on pupils’ achievement; both being under-explored aspects of global learning.
The report investigates the relationship between geography and global learning, including:
- How do schools organise global learning?
- How do schools develop understanding of key concepts in global learning?
- What do schools do to provide quality in geography and global learning?
- What is the impact of global learning on achievement?
The report presents evidence from schools and sets out some recommendations for future developments or programmes in this area.
