GCSE: Food, water and energy

All GCSE specifications include a study of at least one natural resource: food, energy or water. This Toolkit provides a range of fully-resourced and creative lesson ideas to enable teachers to explore these as separate issues, or to consider their interdependence. Students will need to develop a deep understanding of the issues, for example looking at trends in resource supply and demand, unequal access to resources, or how food, energy and water security can be ensured in the future. Issues of sustainability will be particularly important. This Toolkit provides methods to engage all students and encourage an enquiry approach; exam questions check student understanding, and homework activities build upon concepts studied in class.
