Jackie will demonstrate the power and importance of geography fieldwork, sharing a range of techniques that support pupils to make multi-sensory observations about the world around them, including how to collect, analyse and present their data. The course will support teachers to embed geographical fieldwork into sequences of learning to provide real world and meaningful contexts.Course programme
This course will run as two half day sessions online, 12.30 – 15.30, with breaks for refreshments, as well as a range of interactive outdoor activities.
5 February - Session 1 – Fieldwork Foundations & Fieldwork in practice: enquiry, maps and sensory exploration.
12 March - Session 2 – Fieldwork for every occasion: integration, techniques, progression.
