The session models and explains the powerful process of geographical enquiry, providing teachers with the knowledge to support pupils to independently investigate the features, processes and interactions between the physical and human world. Jon will share questioning techniques and how to collect, analyse, communicate and act on the outcomes of a geographical enquiry.

  • Session 1 – What is enquiry based learning?
  • Session 2 – What do we want pupils to know and understand?
  • Session 3 – How do we plan for ‘knowing more, understanding more and remembering more’?


This course will run as a full day online, 9.30 – 15.30, with breaks for lunch and refreshments.
