With this course, gain the confidence, knowledge and skills to navigate and implement sustainability and climate action plans in your school by 2025.

Overview

This series of six webinars is designed to equip you with the confidence, knowledge and skills to navigate the DfE requirement for sustainability / climate action plans in schools by 2025 and will provide support and strategies for in-class and school-wide implementation. It will also consider how the sustainable development goals can be embedded within the curriculum and discuss key issues surrounding student empowerment, safeguarding and decolonising the curriculum. The accompanying toolkit will supplement your activities and provide appropriate support and guidance.

Key learning aims

  • To develop confidence, knowledge and skills to navigate and implement the DfE requirement for sustainability / climate action plans in schools.  
  • To share strategies and resources to support the teaching of climate change and sustainability that empower students and embed the SDGs into the curriculum.

  • Increased confidence in embedding the SDGs into the curriculum and empowering students to discuss issues relating to climate change and sustainability.

  • Students feel valued, represented and empowered to discuss issues relating to climate change and sustainability, raising levels of intrinsic motivation and self-esteem.

15 May Session 5: Safeguarding in the climate crisis and decolonising the curriculum 
22 May Session 6: Plenary Q&A with our presenters

All sessions will run from 16.00 - 17.00 on the specified dates.
